Matka raids continue in South Goa

Raids against matka gambling continued on Tuesday, resulting in the arrest of some bookies and seizure of cash amount from them.

According to police, a total of 59 matka bookies were arrested and a total amount of Rs 16,000 was seized from them.  
Police said the raids were conducted in different parts of South Goa including Margao, Quepem, Sanguem, Canacona, Cuncolim, etc. The raids will continue in phases, 
police added.  
According to police, the maximum amount confiscated in the raids was from Margao, followed by Maina-Curtorim, Curchorem and Colva.

Shadow Council of Margao demands withdrawal of sanitation fees
