Mayem Cong members to join BJP

BICHOLIM: Former Congress Mayem ZP member Meghana Yende and her husband Congress activist Mahesh are likely to join the BJP.

Speaking to reporters, Mahesh Yende said he has decided to join BJP after realizing that only a few people have dominated in the Congress party for the last many years. He said he would join BJP along with his supporters soon.

Yende has been working for Mayem block Congress committee for the last 20 years.

Mining affected, officials meet BICHOLIM: Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant convened a special meeting of mining affected villagers from Sakhali constituency at Ravindra Bhavan Sakhali. The motive behind the meeting was to know the problems faced by the people in the mining zone after mining activities resumed.
