Meet today on grants to college
PERNEM: Vikas Parishad Organisation chairman and former union minister Adv Ramakant Khalap has stated that leaders and workers of different parties will convene a meeting at Mandrem on Wednesday, to voice their opinion on grants being deprived to Mandrem College of Commerce, Economics and Management, Mandrem.
Speaking to reporters, Khalap claimed that on July 17, 2012, then chief minister Manohar Parrikar had given permission to start the commerce stream at Mandrem College, on condition that only 50 students would be given admissions.
“The first batch of the Mandrem College passed out securing cent per cent results last year. One physically disabled student of the college scored distinction, three students got first class, while six students got second class,” said Khalap.
