A 10-member team from the Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) visited the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) to learn about successful practices in industrial growth and governance.

The delegation was led by James K. Sangma, MIDC Chairman and former Meghalaya Home Minister, along with six Co-Chairmen and senior officials including Managing Director Delanee D. Nongmalieh.

The visit aimed to promote knowledge-sharing and explore collaboration between the two states. Discussions focused on grievance redressal, digital governance, regulatory reforms, financial systems, and infrastructure development.

Goa-IDC Managing Director Pravimal Abhishek presented an overview of the Corporation’s initiatives, which include simplifying procedures, improving service delivery, supporting sustainable industries, and promoting women entrepreneurs.

He highlighted the OPEN portal, a single digital platform that allows industries to manage land allotments, permissions, payments, and estate services. The portal, built using Digital Public Goods endorsed by the UN, has reduced time, documentation, and processes by 60%.

The delegation also visited the Verna Industrial Estate to observe its infrastructure and ongoing projects.
