Meti to contest polls in Cortalim
CORTALIM: Cortalim constituency could have the largest number of serious candidates vying for the Assembly seat, but that has not deterred former Sancoale sarpanch and Panch Sharan Meti to decide on taking a plunge in the forthcoming elections.
Stating that he would surely contest the forthcoming Assembly polls, Meti said the people had given him a go ahead to contest the elections.
“People know my work as Sancoale sarpanch. I never kept any file pending and my work is there to see. Let anyone apply under RTI Act on my working as the sarpanch and I challenge anyone to show that I ever sat on any proposal from the public,” Meti said and added that he was serious in contesting the elections.
“I believe in serving the people which is my passion. I have my business which is well established and politics is not my bread and butter,” Meti said.
Meti who represents Sancoale in Dabolim as panch, could pull a good number of votes in his ward, Zuari Nagar and Issorcim and other pockets in the constituency.
