Costa will be on a two-day visit to Goa on January 11-12.
MGP has also demanded that the Portuguese Consulate be shifted outside Goa.
Addressing media persons, MGP supremo Sudin Dhavalikar said, “I understand that the Portuguese PM is arriving in Goa on January 11. Once he reaches Goa, he should apologise to each and every Goan for the destruction Portuguese have caused to Goa.”
He however said that the MGP would not hold a protest against him.
Speaking further, he said, “MGP has already raised objection to the consulate giving Portuguese passport to Goans. Because of this, nearly 1.2 lakh Goans have lost their voting rights. This will continue till it is in Goa so it should be shifted.”
Strongly batting for his demand, he said,
“Now when it is in Goa, one can easily get a Portuguese passport. If it shifted to Delhi, a layman cannot go there very easily.”
Meanwhile GSM President Anand Shirodkar said, “We cannot welcome him with open arms. People have not forgotten what Portuguese have done to Goa.”
