MGP has advised the State government not to provoke the public by delaying the action to remove casino from its current berthing
After the Opposition\'s hue and cry over the anchoring of a casino vessel near Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao, Bharatiya Janata Party’s alliance partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) too has chipped in with the protest drums, asking the State Government to move the vessel from its present place of berthing.
Strongly opposing the casino culture in the State, MGP has advised the State government to shift MV Royale Floatel from its present berthing near Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao, though it has not specified the relocation site.
Speaking to The Goan, MGP General Secretary Lavoo Mamledar said, “Our Party has taken the decision to write to the State government to shift the vessel from its present berthing as it is an eco-sensitive area. The State government will have to see to look for locations where it can be shifted.”
In its letter, MGP has advised the State government not to provoke the public by delaying the action to remove casino from its current berthing in order to avoid any protests leading to law and order situation.
