Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar said beneficiaries receiving property title deeds under the Mhaje Ghar Scheme will now have legal ownership of their homes, giving them security and peace of mind.
He was speaking at a property title deed distribution programme organised under the Jan Kalyan Shibir for beneficiaries from the Pernem constituency.
The programme was attended by Pernem Deputy Collector Varsha Parab, Mamlatdar Ranjit Salgaonkar, and officials from the Revenue Department.
During the programme, title deeds were distributed to eligible beneficiaries living in houses built under the 20-Point Programme, as well as to citizens who had constructed houses on their own land under the Mhaje Ghar Scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Collector Varsha Parab explained the various provisions of the scheme. She spoke about its applicability to different categories of land, including private, government and Comunidade land. She also explained the eligibility criteria, documents required, legal procedures, and the process of obtaining title deeds to regularise residential properties.
On the occasion, individuals who have contributed to the fields of art, literature, agriculture and social service were felicitated with shawls, coconuts and mementoes. Those honoured included Ravindra Pednekar, Prasad Parab, Eknath Sawal Desai, Mahadev Shetye, Dashrath Gawde, Bablo Pednekar, Rupesh Sawant, Sadashiv Naik, Vilas Dhargalkar, Santosh Talvanekar, Ganvesh Nagvekar, Shivaji Mahale and Nakul Malik.
