Mickky still sore about ISL stake in FC Goa

Goa Vikas Party supremo Mickky Pacheco has said the government has given permissions to ISL organisers to use the name of F C Goa and the SAG ground for the football matches without demanding certain percentage of stake in the team.

Addressing the media, Mickky said he had raised the issue in the Goa Legislative Assembly by offering to buy 25 per cent of the shares in the F C Goa team instead of allowing a businessman from outside Goa to hold 65 per cent of the share in the team. “I am surprised that the government did not stake claim on 25 per cent of the shares in the F C Goa team and even allowed the organisers to use the SAG ground for the matches,” he said.
When asked how Goans could have benefited if he was permitted to buy 25 per cent of the shares in the F C Goa team, Mickky answered, “It would have helped the local soccer fans with better facilities like in the last two seasons when Srinivas Dempo and Dattaraj Salgaocar had stakes in the F C Goa team.”
