Mid-day meal rates hiked

The State government on Tuesday hiked the mid-day meal rates paid to self-help groups by 0.75 paisa per student for pre primary and primary and Rs 1.12 paisa per student for upper primary level with retrospective effect from December 1, 2024 onwards. 

As per the revised rates, for pre primary and primary level, the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and self-help groups would be entitled to Rs 8. 75 per student and Rs 11.12 per upper primary student. 

In a circular issued, Director of Education Shailesh Zingade said that the new rates, applicable from December  1, 2024 onwards would be for all Parent-Teacher Associations and self-help groups under POSHAN scheme providing mid day meal to all the government and government aided pre primary, primary and upper primary  schools. 

Zingade said that the meanu, quantity, calories and other conditions will remain the same.
