Milagres credit society opens Aldona branch NEW BEGINNINGS: Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira along with director and former chairman Carminho Costa inaugurate the new branch of Our Lady of Milagres Credit Society at St Thomas Parish Centre, Aldona.

The Our Lady of Milagres Urban Co-operative Credit Society Ltd expanded its presence with the inauguration of its seventh branch in Aldona on Thursday.

The new branch was inaugurated by Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira in the presence of director and former chairman of the society, Carminho Costa.

The premises were blessed by Rev Fr Agnelo Simoes, assistant parish priest of St Thomas Church, Aldona.

Addressing the gathering, Ferreira lauded the society’s consistent performance over the past 31 years, noting its steady growth and financial discipline.

He said the society had set an example for other co-operative institutions in the State and urged residents of Aldona to make full use of the facilities offered.

Highlighting the society’s track record, officials said it has recorded profits since its inception and continues to maintain a strong financial footing.

On the occasion, Costa was felicitated for his significant contribution to the society over the last three decades, with the honour being presented by Ferreira.

Earlier, administrative manager Francisco Silveira welcomed the guests, while chairman Diogo Sequeira provided an overview of the society’s functioning and performance.

Savio Pinto, branch manager of the Aldona unit, proposed the vote of thanks.

The opening of the new branch is expected to enhance access to financial services for residents in and around Aldona.
