Urban Development Minister Milind Naik along with Mormugao Municipal Council councilllors Shashikant Parab and others inaugurated a playground with stage at Sada on Saturday morning.
The stage and the playground near Kalavati Mandir have been named as Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Vyaspith.
MMC councillors Leo Rodrigues, Murari Bandekar, Damodar Kaskar, BJP Mormugao block president Sanjay Satardekar, Dr Dharmendra Prabhudessai and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development Minister Milind Naik said that the playground and the stage were a long pending demand of the locals.
“The playground will be useful for everyone and can be used for playing, walking, recreation for senior citizens and also for important meetings of political parties and organisations. Besides, there is also a temple in the surrounding of the ground and people will benefit from such a wonderful playground,” said Naik.
Ward councillor Shashikant Parab appealed to the people from Sada to make good use of this playground and stage and maintain the cleanliness.
“The development of this playground and the Shivaji Vyaspith has been carried out under the 14th Finance Commission scheme of the municipality with an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh.”
