Urban Development Minister Milind Naik on Sunday morning distributed free tree saplings to the local residents near the Laxmi Narayan Temple at Sada .

Mormugao BJP Mandal led by president Sanjay Satardekar had organised the tree sapling distribution program to commemorate the birthday celebrations of PM Narendra Modi .

Municipal Councillors Leo Rodrigues, Shashikant Parab, Murari Bandekar, Damodar Kaskar were present at the function which received a good response from the local residents .

Naik speaking to media later said that various public programmes will be held for an entire week by BJP to commemorate PM's birthday.

"As of now we have distributed tree saplings and by next week we will have another programme to plant trees as well. All booth members and karyakartas will participate in these programmes that will be held throughout the week. Wherever we go, we have seen that people love trees and usually avail the benefit while free tree saplings are being distributed. There is a huge response for the tree sapling distribution programme but we have maintained the social distancing norms as well," said Naik.

"We take care of our personal belongings and family members and all the people must also take care of these trees because if the trees are planted and taken good care of , we are also indirectly supporting the country to become clean and green and this will also help nourish nature," said Naik.
