Minor girl allegedly kidnapped in Cortalim

Verna police have registered a case of alleged kidnapping after a minor girl was reportedly taken away from the lawful custody of her father in Cortalim.

According to police, the complaint was filed by the girl’s father, whose identity has been withheld to protect the minor’s privacy.

The complainant alleged that an unidentified person unlawfully kidnapped his minor daughter from Cortalim at around 5 pm on 

July 29.

Based on the complaint, Verna Police registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the minor and identify  the accused.

Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Carey  Fernandes of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand  Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
