The body of a 55-year-old woman who was reported missing from Cotigao about eight days ago, was found floating in the village bandhara.
According to Canacona police, the highly decomposed body of Chandrawati Gaonkar was found in the bandhara at Cotigao.
Relatives had filed a missing report with Canacona police after the women had failed to return home since January 17 and they had also launched a search in all known places.
The body has been dispatched for a post mortem and police awaits the report to establish the cause of death.
