An upgraded 220 KVA transformer was inaugurated at Sada, Vasco on Saturday, as part of an initiative to address long-standing issues with power supply in the region.
This transformer is one of 25 newly upgraded transformers which have been installed across Mormugao constituency.
At the inauguration event, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar said the newly upgraded transformers aim to address frequent outages and voltage issues, offering immediate relief to residents who have struggled with erratic power for years.
MLA Amonkar revealed plans for an additional Rs 27 crore project designed to further strengthen the power infrastructure in Mormugao constituency.
Under this project, the Bogda substation will receive a direct power supply from Verna, creating a more stable and efficient power distribution network. This initiative is expected to improve the resilience of the local power grid and significantly reduce power disruptions.
“This investment is not just about infrastructure; it’s about improving the quality of life for the people of Mormugao. The new direct line from Verna to Bogda substation will be a game-changer for reliable and uninterrupted power supply in our constituency,” said Amonkar.
With the completion of these initiatives, Mormugao is set to see a substantial improvement in power supply stability, providing much-needed relief to the constituency’s residents and businesses alike.
