Two newly upgraded transformers were inaugurated in Mangor, Vasco on Saturday, as part of efforts to resolve local power supply issues.
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar inaugurated the transformers in the presence of Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Girish Borker, Councillors Narayan Borker and Shami Salkar, officials from the Electricity Department, and a gathering of local residents.
Addressing the gathering, Salkar emphasised that the upgraded transformers are specifically designed to manage the increased electricity demand due to Mangor’s rapid residential expansion.
“We are witnessing Mangor’s growth as a residential area, and it is crucial that our infrastructure keeps up with this development,” said Salkar.
“These new transformers are part of our efforts to prevent overloading issues and ensure a reliable power supply for residents.”
MMC Chairperson Girish Borker also spoke on the occasion.
The installation of the new transformers is anticipated to offer more consistent power to residents in Mangor area.
