MLA claims State govt may take any decision in support of K'taka amid polls

MARGAO

Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai has cautioned Goans to beware, claiming the BJP government in the State may take any decision in support of Karnataka, including the issue of Mhadei, to ensure the saffron party wins the ensuing Assembly polls in the neighbouring state.

Speaking to the media, the Fatorda MLA said that the Karnataka government is back in diverting the Mhadei waters once again under the guise that the water will be used for drinking.

“Our Chief Minister has been on the record that he loves Mhadei more than anything else. But, the government is silent when the neighbouring state has made another attempt to divert the Mhadei river water,” he said.

He added: “One should remember that Karnataka is heading for Assembly elections and our government may take any decisions, right from Mhadei to providing land in the state to build Kanada Bhavan in Goa. What matters for this government is to do everything possible so that the BJP retains power in Karnataka.”
