MARGAO
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has dashed off a letter to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane with a request to immediately start the Nephrology OPD in the new South Goa District Hospital.
He also requested the Minister to make the lifts in the district hospital operational.
In his letter, Reginaldo drew the attention of the Health Minister to his previous letter requesting him to immediately get the OPD services and all related procedures started for Nephrology in South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) as it will provide the much-needed succour to the people of South Goa suffering from kidney ailments and undergoing its various treatment including dialysis.
He informed that challenges facing scores of people residing in the South who are currently undergoing kidney treatment at SGDH, including undergoing dialysis treatment persist. “Sadly all of them are shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) Hospital and it becomes extremely inconvenient to the health of the patient and in many cases, some of these patients succumb to the ailment,” he said while requesting for a full-fledged Nephrology OPD started at SGDH at the earliest.
