OLD GOA
Information from the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department continues to elude St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar even as Deputy Collector Rajesh Azgaonkar had assured that it would be provided on Monday.
Speaking to The Goan, Borkar informed that he called up the North Goa Collector who informed that some information is kept ready by the Deputy Town Planner Ashok Kumar.
“So in the evening, I went to the office, which surprisingly was converted into a fortress with stationing of policemen. However, the Deputy Town Planner was not present in the office and the staff could not inform whether he had gone on leave or not,” Borkar said.
“Then, I was called by the Dy Collector Azgaonkar who asked me to meet the Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik. Ironically, even Naik was unable to tell whether Kumar had gone on leave or he had resigned,” the MLA stated.
However, Borkar informed that the Naik then assured him that the information sought would be provided by Friday.
Later speaking to reporters, Borkar questioned the much hyped programme of ‘Prashashan Tumchya Dhari’.
“Here in the TCP, the prashashan is not there and the CTP is unaware of his whereabouts,” chided Borkar
“If the Depuy Town Planner is missing, then a missing report should be filed with the police by the department,” Borkar opined while stating that he will now wait till February 23 to see whether the information is provided.
Borkar then added that he called up the Chief Secretary and brought to his notice how the administration in the TCP department is run, where officers are not held accountable.
