MMC directs removal of tower along Abade Faria road

In an interesting development, Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhudesai has issued directions to the Chief Officer to raze down mobile tower erected by a household along the Abade Faria road.

The Chairperson issued the directions after she received a complaint stating that an illegal mobile tower has been erected atop a house at Abade Faria.   
When The Goan contacted MMC Chief Officer, Y B Tawde to shed light on the illegality, the Chief officer pointed out that inspection by a Municipal junior engineer has confirmed that the tower has been illegally erected by the household. “We have decided to immediately issue a show cause notice to the party to remove the illegal tower. Though the tower is not yet connected, the Municipality will demolish the structure”, he said.   
Tawde further pointed out that the Municipality will issue notice to the party for digging of road to lay cable.

The concerned government should grant permission to Mangalore port authorities to handle the coal there.
