MMC has also ordered the meat shop owners to vacate the building for some days ahead of the repair works of the drainage. Kavlekar along with MMC Chief officer Clen Madeira, chief engineer Hussainshah Mujjawar, GSUDA vice-president Sudheer Kandolkar, WRD assistant engineer Gad and junior engineer Mallikarjun conducted the inspection of the drainage at Mapusa market.
Kavlekar and Madeira have expressed displeasure over slow pace of work and delay in removing the silt. After the inspection, the MMC directed the WRD engineers to remove the silt and complete the repair work on the drainage within 10 days. The WRD engineers assured the MMC of completing the drainage work immediately. The engineers also requested the MMC to vacate all the meat shops from along the drainage as it poses hurdles for them to repair.
