The Margao Municipal Council has announced a host of initiatives for the celebration of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsov in the Municipal jurisdiction.
The Civic body has decided to place two waste bins each at the seven places identified during Ganesh procession.
Around 10 composting units will collect the Nirmalaya at the Sarvajanik Ganesha immersion places.
The waste bins will be placed near Bal Bhavan, near Chowgule Tali, near Ana Fonte Garden, Malbhat near the well (Councillor Sidharth Ghadekar), near Shree Ram Mandir Tolleaband (Councillor Lata Pednekar), near Loyola Ground Damodar College and near the Agriculture farm.
The Chief Officer has requested the public to cooperate and place flowers in one bin and dry waste like incense and other objects in the other bin.
“Public are also requested to avoid single use plastics and avoid using plastic cups, wares, etc instead use patravali and cloth bags specially naturally decomposing environment friendly objects as the Ganesh festival has great reverence to Mother Nature, environment and nature”, Agnelo said.
The Chief Officer has requested the people to observe all Covid SOPs such as maintaining safe distance, avoid crowding, use sanitizers and practice self-responsibility and towards others too.
The Council has also appealed to all to help each other to celebrate Ganesha festival safely and with traditional religious fervor like the way it is done in Goa.
No fair during feast in Chinchinim-Deussua
MARGAO: The Village Panchayat Chinchinim-Deussua has said there will be no fair or any stalls in the Church surrounding area in the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Hope Church, Chinchinim on September 12.
Sarpanch Inacinha Rebello has urged the Parishioners to follow strict compliance of SOP due to COVID-19 Virus.
“Due to Covid Pandemic, there will be no fair or any stalls in the Church surrounding area in the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat ChinchinimÂDeussua in larger public interest.
