Come Wednesday and the MMC will launch a mega recovery drive in the commercial capital to recover outstanding tax dues from the defaulters.
As a first step, the civic body has decided to target major tax defaulters, including housing societies and business establishments.
“So far, the civic body has not initiated strict action against tax defaulters. We also understand that the economy was hit by the Covid pandemic, but time has now come for the defaulters to pay. I will soon start cracking the whip,” he warned.
