‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ that has been introduced to ensure cleanliness at every area has been overlooked on most occasions.
At the KTC bus stand in Ponda, garbage has been regularly noticed in the vicinity of public toilets situated at these premises. The same is not being cleared on regular basis.
Even at the old bus stand (also in Ponda) garbage has been noticed in a scattered condition under the clock situated at these premises. The situation is rather undesirable and tends to be an eyesore for travellers and pedestrians alike.
Such a state of affairs levies a negative image of this town in the minds of travellers including tourist vehicles proceeding along this strategic location.
It is the need of the hour to maintain cleanliness at the above bus stands on a permanent basis.
