MMC removes boards of liquor shops, bars

Mapusa Municipal Council on Monday removed over 35 boards of the wine shops and bars situated along the national and State highway.

MMC removed the boards following the order from the excise department. Supreme Court has ordered to remove all the wine shops and bars which are located within 500 metres from the highway. Accordingly, the Excise Department had directed the Director of Municipal Administration to implement the order.

MMC has started acting by removing the boards of the wine shops and bars along the highway.
