The Fatorda Police on Wednesday busted a three-member gang of mobile thieves at the Margao KTC bus stand and recovered from their possession three stolen phones, including an I-phone.
The three accused are all natives of Dharwad-Hubli in Karnataka
Fatorda PI Kapil Nayak informed that the police had drafted a team of LIB staff for patrolling and surveillance at the Margao KTC bus stand following a complaint lodged by one Jahangir Syed that unknown miscreants stole his I-phone at the bus stand.
During patrolling, the LIB staff spotted three persons moving suspiciously at the bus stand. After their detention, a search conducted on their person revealed they were carrying three mobile phones, including the stolen I-phone.
Interrogation of the trio revealed that they have been involved in a spate of mobile phone thefts.
The names of the accused persons were provided as Rakesh Gunjal, Vishwaki Govi and Sadanand Govi, all residents of Dharwad-Hubli.
