Speaking to the media at Baradi-Velim on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Sanskruti Bhavan in the presence of Velim MLA Benjamin D’Silva, D’Souza, who also holds the TCP portfolio, said the government will also take political view and views of elected representatives into account while finalizing the plan. “They come first in the chain. The MLAs, sarpanchas, panchas, councillors, chairpersons, they all come in the hierarchy. We have to also listen to every opinion and do what is best for the state,” he said.
On the demand being made in certain quarters to stop housing, D’Souza said there cannot be a moratorium on housing and any such decision will only result in chaos in the state. “How can I stop housing when the government does not provide housing. It is the private stake holders that provide houses. If we stop that, just imagine the chaotic situation in the state,” he said, adding that though finalizing the RP is a slow process, the government will not try to please anyone and everybody.
On the contentious issue of MoI, D’Souza said he will go by the decision of the government and the CM.
