
Tributes were paid to BR Ambedkar across Mormugao Takuka on the occasion of his 135th birth anniversary, with programmes held at Zuarinagar in Sancoale and at Chicalim, drawing participation from local leaders, youth, and residents.
At Chicalim, Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho joined local leaders and residents in paying homage to Dr Ambedkar. Floral tributes were offered as a mark of respect to his contribution towards shaping the Constitution and championing the rights of the marginalised.
Speakers at the gathering recalled Babasaheb’s tireless efforts in uplifting the oppressed sections of society and emphasised the importance of preserving his legacy through continued social awareness and empowerment initiatives.
At Zuarinagar, Cortalim Congress workers led by former Goa Pradesh Youth Congress president Mahesh Nadar paid floral tributes to the Architect of the Indian Constitution. The event saw participation from youth members, who gathered to honour Babasaheb’s legacy and reaffirm their commitment to his ideals.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadar said Dr Ambedkar’s vision of equality, social justice, and empowerment continues to inspire generations and remains relevant in today’s times. He stressed the need for young people to follow the path shown by Babasaheb, particularly in promoting education, unity, and constitutional values.
Both events witnessed a strong turnout, particularly from the youth, reflecting the enduring influence of Dr Ambedkar’s teachings.
