OLD GOA:
According to one of the Ghodekar family members, Mamta Ghodekar was sitting in the bus with her two-year old child in her lap when one of the accused tried to assault with a sword.
“The mother shielded the child by putting her hand in the way of the sword, due to which she suffered a deep cut on her shoulder and received 18 stitches,” the member further informed.
Another family member said he did not expect this type of cowardice from Goans towards the tourists. “If at all they had any grudge, they should have settled the issue by a slap or two and not assault with knives, swords and choppers,” he stated while adding that such types of incidents will keep the tourists away from visiting the State.
