MAPUSA
A motorist from Kamrakhajan-Mapusa has been booked for threatening Mapusa Traffic Police Inspector Marlon D’Souza and obstructing him from duty at Peddem Junction, Mapusa, on Monday evening.
Around 6 pm, traffic congestion occurred due to the trial activation of traffic signals at the junction on the national highway. Inspector D’Souza and his team were managing traffic when Dattaraj Raoji Tuyekar was stopped for not wearing a seat belt and asked to produce his driving licence.
Tuyekar allegedly argued with the officers, refused to provide his licence, and threatened the inspector. He was also accused of obstructing the police in their duties.
On Tuesday, Inspector D’Souza filed a complaint, and based on it, Mapusa police registered a case against Tuyekar.
