MSME Incubation Park at Verna likely

PANAJI

The proposed One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for industries and MSME incubation park at Verna were among various issues discussed at Goa-IDC’s first-ever Quarterly Consultative Meetings (QCMs).

The four individual meetings were conducted with CII (Confederation of Indian Industries), FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) and LUB (Laghu Udyog Bharati), along with the members of the association.

Managing Director, GIDC Pravimal Abhishek said these meetings are held in a bid to elicit inputs and feedback from industry bodies, which otherwise do not have representation on the Goa-IDC Board of Directors.

The key issues discussed during the meetings consisted of the proposed OTS Scheme for industries, recovery of land from non-functional units, setting up of an MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) incubation park at Verna Industrial Estate and organizing an exhibition of industry products.

“We look forward to having active collaboration with all industry bodies to create a conducive business environment. All the industry stakeholders need to be aware of the issues, developments and reforms in the industrial sector. To boost economic growth and project Goa as an industrial hub, such meetings can provide positive outcomes and through a collaborative effort targets can be achieved,” Abhishek said.

A detailed report was also provided to industry bodies on the various reforms and issues being pursued by the Corporation. He added that recommendations would be submitted to Goa-IDC by the industry bodies to take steps in the right direction.
