Mumbai native dies in accident

PORVORIM: A young tourist from Mumbai died in a road mishap along the Verem-Nerul road on Monday afternoon.

According to Porvorim police, Aziz Feroz Malnapwalla from Bhendi Bazaar in Mumbai was proceeding toward Candolim along with a friend after visiting Panaji on a motorcycle (GA-03-N-3330).

On reaching near the petrol pump at Verem, the motorcycle and an oncoming car (GA-03- N-9698) collided with each other and Aziz Feroz sustained grievous head injuries, while the pillion rider escaped with minor injuries.

He was rushed to Goa Medical College hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Porvorim Police has registered an offence against the car driver, Shankarrppa Rayar, on charges of driving in a rash manner.
