Mundvel house declared as micro-containment zone

South Goa Collector Ruchika Katyal issued an order declaring a house in Mundvel Vasco as a micro-containment zone.

“Whereas information has been received from Health officer of Vasco UHC that total 8 persons from house bearing House No 55, Near Shree Krishna Temple, Mundvel, opposite KTC Bus stand Vasco have tested positive for Covid-19 and the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mormugao, has requested vide his mail dated 24th April for declaration of micro-containment zone. Therefore certain areas are now vulnerable to Covid-19 being in close proximity to the epicentre and therefore in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 30 and section 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and under the provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 read with The Goa Epidemic Disease Covid 19 Regulation 2020, I Ruchika Katyal, District Magistrate South Goa do hereby declare the following entire geographical areas given below as micro containment zone for all the purpose and objectives described in protocol of Covid-19 to prevent its spread in the adjoining areas,” said the order.

A rapid response team comprising Deputy Collector Sachin Desai, DySP Raju Raut Desai, Vasco UHC Health Officer Dr Rashmi Khandeparkar, MMC Chief Officer Jayant Tari, Fire Station officer Francisco Mendes, Mormugao Mamlatdar Dhiren Banaulikar, Civil Supplies inspector Pillai, PWD assistant engineer P I Naik and Electricity Department Assistant Engineer R K Kulkarni was also deployed to investigate the outbreak and initiate control measure by assessing the situation.
