Murder case registered at Chinchinim

The Cuncolim police has registered a case of murder in connection with the recovery
of a highly decomposed body on the banks of river Sal at Sucaldem Chinchinim on December 3.
Cuncolim police station inÂ-charge, PI Gurudas Kadam informed that the post mortem examination
has revealed that the decomposed body had multiple injuries, of which three injuries on the face
and neck proved fatal.
He pointed out that autopsy report has termed the injuries as being caused by a sharp blunt
weapon, resulting in the death the unidentified man. The Cuncolim police had registered the case
as unnatural death after the highly decomposed body was found floating on the river bank on
December 3.
PI Kadam said that the police are trying to establish the identity of the unknown person, though
saying that the body appeared to be that of a labourer.
Further investigations are on.
