BICHOLIM: Gold ornaments and cash amounting to Rs 1.8 lakh have been stolen from a house in Bagwada-Assonora.

According to Bicholim police, burglars broke into the house of Gautami Chimulkar sometime between 8.45 pm on Friday night and 2.30 am on Saturday, and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 lakh and cash of Rs 30,000 from the cupboard.

Police have registered an offence under Section 454, 380 of IPC and PSI Gaurish Parab is investigating the case.

Assault at BicholimBICHOLIM: A 60-year-old woman from Kharpal Bicholim has been accused of assaulting a woman from Newwada-Dodamarg. According to Bicholim police, Laxmi Gawas (60) has been accused of assaulting Chhaya Arolkar (52) near Phanaswada-Dodamarg with a sickle, causing injuries to Arolkar. Police have registered the offence under Section 324 of IPC and PSI Amir Taral is investigating the case.
