Belagavi
In a major boost to the regional music industry, Belagavi-based SVAN Finesse has launched Kashma-Kash, an international music label that aims to promote original music in Konkani, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi and English while providing a global platform for local talent.
Launched in collaboration with UK-based Downboy Global/Sounds Inc., the initiative also plans to work with Konkani artists from Goa.
Announcing the launch, noted composer and lyricist Ashok Paranjape said the label would encourage original compositions, multilingual creativity and collaborations between Indian and international musicians. He said all vocals are recorded at SVAN’s newly established studios in Belagavi before being sent to London for production and mastering, showcasing the city’s ability to produce music of international standards.
The venture brings together leading UK music professionals, including Brian Harris, Nigel Lowis and Phil Dane. SVAN has also set up two state-of-the-art recording studios, which will be open to aspiring singers, musicians, composers and bands from Belagavi, Goa and neighbouring regions.
