The State government on Tuesday published a notification increasing the mutation fee for large tracts of land.
The notification, issued on December 2 and published on Tuesday, states that for a parcel of inherited property, irrespective of its area and acquired by inventory proceedings, succession, survivorship, inheritance, partition or acquisition of right to inherited property through court decision; the mutation fee is fixed at Rs 1,000.
Whereas, for parcel of property upto 1,000 sq mtrs, the mutation fee is Rs 1,500, for parcel of property above 1,000 sq mtrs but upto 5,000 sq mtrs the fee is fixed at Rs 2,000, for parcel of property above 5,000 sq mtrs but upto 10,000 sq mtrs, it is Rs 3,500 and for every parcel of property of 10,000 sq mtrs or part thereof, above 10,000 sq mtrs the fee is Rs 7,500.
As per the earlier notification, the mutation fee was in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 based on the area.
