A resident of Navelim has complained that an unknown accused person has cheated him for an amount of Rs 2.28 lakh on the promise of offering 12 new air-conditioners for sale.
In his complaint, Nitin Parashari, a resident of Mandopa-Navelim, stated that during the period from March 26, 2026, April 2, 2026, unknown accused person, contacted him over the mobile through an online advertisement offering 12 new air-conditioners for sale.
The accused further dishonestly induced him to believe that the AC units would be delivered after payment and even arranged for a person to visit the complainant's shop for inspection and pickup. Believing the representations to be genuine, the complainant transferred an aggregate amount of Rs 2,28,000 through multiple UPI transactions. The accused, however, failed to deliver the AC units, and stopped responding to the complainant's calls and messages.
