A Mapusa court granted bail to the driver of the Calanguteresort after he tested positive for Covid on Wednesday.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials had nabbed thedriver for his alleged involvement in drug trade.
The NCB officials took the alleged accused, F Ahmed, for amedical checkup at the North Goa District Hospital, Mapusa, prior to producinghim before the court for remand, where he tested positive for Covid.
The driver will be sent to a government-operated Covid carecentre, where he will be undergoing treatment.
It may be recalled the NCB officials on Tuesday raided a resortin Calangute and arrested the driver of the resort who is allegedly involved indrug trade.
According to NCB officials, F Ahmed, who works as a driver inthe resort was allegedly involved in trafficking of bud (curated marijuana).
A senior NCB official informed that Ahmed was accused ofsupplying drugs to some prominent receiver at Bangalore, who has linkages withPage 3 celebrities.
According to sources, the accused will be summoned forinvestigation by the NCB only after he recovers and completes his quarantine period.
Special Public Prosecutor Adv Michael Nazareth appeared for theNCB in the JMFC court in Mapusa.
