“Such derogatory statements are an insult to every Goan and Jeyakumar is trying to divide and instigate Goans to disrupt the hearing,” said D’Souza, while speaking to reporters.
“Every Goan has the right to object to the projects of MPT which are not in the interest of Goa. The present hearing was not only subjected to Vasco, but to the entire State and Goans from other places had every right to object to MPT’s proposals at the public
hearings.”
“If any law and order takes place in the port and in other places due to Jeyakumar’s statements, he should be held responsible. Else, Jeyakumar should withdraw his statements and tender an apology to every Goan for hurting their sentiments and feelings,” D’Souza added.
State NCP spokesperson Parshuram Shetye also criticised the statements of Jeyakumar and said Jeyakumar had insulted Goans by calling them outsiders.
“Jeyakumar knows that MPT has lost the battle and making such statements. He wants to divide and instigate us, so that the case goes in favour of MPT,” said Shetye.
