Nehru's birth anniversary observed
VALPOI: The North Goa Mahila Congress committee celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of late prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru at Unity Multipurpose hall, Valpoi.
North Goa Mahila Congress president Fehmida Khan, organised a Jawaharlal Nehru portrait drawing competition in which 50 students from Unity HS Valpoi participated. Mahila Congress president Sunita Verenkar gave away the prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, Verenkar said Nehru loved children very much and he always considered children to be future of the nation. “Discipline and moral values should be inculcated among the children through education,” Verenkar said.
Fehmida Khan also spoke on the occasion.
