Nerul resident arrested for assault
PORVORIM: Porvorim Police arrested a resident of Firguembhat-Nerul on charges of assaulting a man with a knife at Nerul.
According to Porvorim Police, Sacchit alias Ajit Anand Raikar complained that Pravin Malvankar had a quarrel with his brother, Sandeep Raikar on the street at Nerul.
“Later, Malvankar went home and came to my house with a knife and assaulted my brother Sandeep, who suffered grievous injuries. He was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for medical treatment,” stated the complainant.
Police have registered an offence against Malvankar under Sections 504 and 307 of IPC. The accused was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa and remanded to police custody for four days. Police Sub Inspector Dinesh Gadekar is investigating the case.
