SANGUEM
Netravali village in Sanguem taluka was sanitised on Saturday after a staff member of a co-operative credit society was tested positive for Coronavirus.
Immediately on receiving information that the staff member tested positive, a villager Subhash Velip, who is also the chairman of Adarsh Gram Yojana, informed former MLA Subhash Phaldessai about the incident and requested him to get the village sanitised.
Phaldessai alerted the Curchorem fire station and a fire brigade went to the village and got the surroundings of the credit Society sanitised.
Besides the premises of the credit society, public spaces in other wards at Netravali village were also sanitised.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid cases in Sanguem has risen to 104 with the dreaded virus having spread its tentacles in almost all villages of the taluka. A few days ago, a 73-year-old succumbed to the virus.
Meanwhile, the daily Masses resumed at Our Lady of Piety Chapel at Uguem from Saturday after Chapel authorities were permitted to go ahead with the daily Mass services after following the prescribed SOP.
