Network issues came in the way of many village panchayats from having an interaction with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant via video conferencing on Saturday.
Many sarpanchas and panch members complained that the CM’s address and interaction were not clear in their respective panchayats due to network issues.
Members of the Rumdamol panchayat pointed out that though the Sarpanch and members had all come prepared for the interaction with the Chief Minister, they were left disappointed as network issues came in the way of interaction.
Panchayat member Vinayak Volvoikar told the media that though the interaction with the Chief Minister was live, the members could not participate in the deliberations because of network problems.
Volvoikar, however, said the panchayat sat down with the Swayampurna Mitra and discussed how to take the government schemes to the doorsteps of the people.
“We had a meeting with the Swayampurna Mitra deputed by the government and discussed ways to extend benefits of various schemes to the people, including the handicapped, widows, housewives, etc,” he said.
To a question, the panchayat member said that given the urban nature of the village and paucity of land, schemes on agriculture, dairy farming etc will not be applicable in the village panchayat area.
