Narinder Punj, advisor, Worldwide Entertainment & Resort Pvt Ltd, said, “The idea behind Big Daddy is to invite families and not just focus on people who are only keen on gambling. That’s why we have named it so. In this ship, we are going to have a restaurant, live entertainment, night club and also a children’s entertainment area.”
The new casino Big Daddy will be part of a ship called ‘Lucky Seven’, which will also have avenues for the entertainment of tourists. Punj further said, “We are expecting 50 per cent revenue from entertainment and 50 per cent from the casino.”
Punj also highlighted that Big Daddy will focus more on domestic tourists. Interestingly, casinos are where domestic tourists pour in round-the-year, while Goa is still struggling to become a 12-month tourist destination. To that extent, it seems that the new casino has got its strategy cut and clear.
Meanwhile, it is also informed that Big Daddy will have 90 gaming tables. The ship, Lucky Seven, will be 24-metre wide and 70-metre long complete with 4 decks. This will make it one of the biggest ships of this category in Mandovi River.
Lucky Seven is already in Goa and Punj also informed that it will take 8 to 12 weeks for the ship, including the casino, to start commercial operations.  The licence for the new casino was granted to a company called Golden Globe Hotels. The Bombay High Court at Goa recently directed the state government to renew the said licence.
