Informing about the change of nomenclature of 'Forum for Senior Citizens' to 'All Goa Senior Citizens' Federation', the Federation has appealed to senior citizens to register their cases of non-maintenance by their legal heirs as also their physical and mental abuse through this organisation.
This, the federation felt, will help it to pursue such cases with the concerned authorities such as Police and Maintenance Tribunals set up by Goa government with Deputy Collectors/ SDM as Tribunal Heads and District Collector/ Magistrate as the Appellate Authority.
A press release issued by the President of the federation, Diogo M Da Costa, has also informed members of the erstwhile Forum to replace their identity cards with the nomenclature of 'All India Senior Citizens Federation'.
Da Costa has also appealed to those senior citizens who are not members of the federation to enroll themselves with the federation and avail of the benefit of government and non-government schemes.
Meanwhile, the press release also informs that the federation celebrated 56th Goa Liberation Day as well as Christmas celebrations to mark the respective occasions.
