New Monday celebrated at Bicholim
BICHOLIM: New Monday festival was celebrated in Bicholim town with religious fervour.
The celebration was organised by Gramastha Gaonkar Mandal at old temple at Gaonkarwada-Bicholim and Bazaarkar Mandal at Atil Peth Bicholim. Different religious rituals like Mahabhishek, Vishnusahastranaam Parayan, Saptashati Pathwachan, punyahwachan, aarti and tirth prasad were held in both the temples.
The palanquin procession of both temples that started late night wound its way through the entire Bicholim town. A large number of devotees including women offered 'Ootis', flowers, bananas and coconuts to the goddess. The palanquin procession went back to the temple on Tuesday afternoon.
