A depression on the Anjuna side of the approach road of the bridge exposed the quality of work carried out by the agency concerned. News spread like wild fire and residents started flocking to the bridge to witness the depression on the bridge. Soon, the news also started trending on social media, particularly on Facebook. PWD officials rushed to the site for damage control and soon started to patch up the depression. “The mud used for the approach road settled down due to the rains and therefore there was a depression created on the road. We have patched up the area and things are normal now,” said Shamsunder Adfarkar, Assistant Engineer, PWD roads. “The bridge is perfectly alright. Only the approach road was affected due to mud settlement, which has been resolved now,” he added. The Tito Bridge was built by the PWD at a cost of Rs 67.50 lakh. The total length of the double span RCC Tito Bridge is 18 metres, while the breadth is 8 metres. Work on the bridge began in February and it was inaugurated in May by PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar in the presence of Water Resources Minister Dayanand Mandrekar.
