The NGO ‘Mandrem Udargat’ has set up a Covid Isolation Centre by taking up 20 rooms at 'Hotel Aarya' in Ashwem-Mandrem for people of Mandrem constituency.
The Covid Isolation Centre was inaugurated by pediatrician Dr Punam Sambhaji on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya on Friday.
Mandrem Udargat President M Sambhaji, MGP leader Jit Arolkar, Mandrem Deputy Sarpanch Subhash Asolkar, Mandrem Covid Task Force Secretary Adv. Prasad Shahapurkar and Dr Joseph Fernandes were among those present at the event.
Jit Arolkar said the isolation centre will provide free accommodation to Covid patients between 18 and 59 years with mild levels of infection and it will not be for patients with co-morbidities or those who need hospitalisation.
The centre will provide meals, health monitoring and consultation by a doctor and a 24x7 ambulance.
Adv. Prasad Shahapurkar spoke about the support between the Mandrem panchayat and the Mandrem Covid Task Force in setting up the centre and assured Task Force's full support to the Mandrem Udargat.
